The speculation arose years ago after the two collaborated on several love-themed tracks in the 2010s, sparking dating gossip among fans.

During a recent appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, the 45-year-old singer clarified that she and M.I. were never romantically involved.

“Because of the romantic storyline in our song One Naira, many assumed we were dating. That was never the case. We were just friends exploring a love story through music, creating characters to bring the song to life,” she said.
Waje also revealed that M.I.’s girlfriend at the time contributed the voice-over for the track, not her.
