The founder of Evangelical Biblical Outreach Ministries International (EBOMI), Prophet Isa El-Buba, has called on President Bola Tinubu to resign if he cannot secure the release of kidnapped schoolchildren in Oyo State, warning that the 2027 election campaign cannot proceed while Nigerians remain in the grip of banditry and kidnapping.

El-Buba issued the ultimatum on Sunday after a protest rally in Jos, held in solidarity with the Christian Association of Nigeria’s (CAN) nationwide demonstration tagged “Black Sunday” — a coordinated action demanding the freedom of the abducted Oyo schoolchildren and all others held captive by armed groups across the country.

Addressing the crowd, El-Buba left no room for ambiguity in his message to the President.

“This country you are leading — everything stops on your table,” he declared. “If you will not get our children out of the forest, resign from your position. Nigerians entrusted you with leadership and you must lead Nigeria right.”

The cleric further called on Nigerians to boycott the 2027 general elections should the government fail to restore security across the country, arguing that it would be unconscionable to hold campaign rallies while kidnapping and banditry continue to ravage communities.

El-Buba also sounded a firm warning against any form of compromise in the handling of security matters, insisting that only decisive action could adequately protect Nigerian lives. He urged citizens to remain engaged, calling on them to hold their leaders accountable while rejecting what he described as the twin dangers of hatred, violence, and division.
