Oborevwori links salary policy to support for the party
The governor suggested that the additional salary payment should encourage workers to back the ruling party, drawing attention to the financial benefits of the policy. He presented the 13th-month salary as a tangible gain for civil servants under his administration and a reason for them to stand with the APC at the polls.

Speaking at the event, Oborevwori said, “Today civil servants have no choice not to vote us. They have no choice. 13th month (salary) is huge, times two. Some people don’t understand what 13th month is”

He further explained, “What you’re receiving now is times two in December. That is the meaning of 13th month. Whether you’re an appointee, whether a public servant, whether a civil servant, you’re receiving your 13th month.”

The governor urged campaign council members to take President Bola Tinubu’s message to communities and mobilise support across electoral wards and polling units.

Former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa urged party members to reach voters directly rather than depend solely on rallies.

Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme also called on party faithful to publicise Tinubu’s achievements in areas including education funding, electricity, security and road infrastructure.

The inauguration comes after Delta’s political shift from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC in April 2025.

Oborevwori’s remarks place workers’ welfare and the 13th-month salary package at the centre of his campaign message ahead of the 2027 elections.
