Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have rescued a newborn baby girl who was found abandoned inside a carton along a roadside in Galadima, Abuja.

This marks the third case of an abandoned baby discovered within the FCT in just the past two weeks.

FCT police spokesperson SP Joseph Adeh voiced concern over the troubling pattern, stressing that the abandonment of children — and the danger it exposes them to within communities — must come to an end.
The police have appealed to members of the public who may have relevant information to come forward, in hopes of tracing the infant’s family members.
