Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe has made remarkable strides in social and economic development over the past 38 years since the signing of the Unity Accord, and it remains the duty of every citizen to continue driving industrialization and modernization through unity and hard work, President Mnangagwa has said.

In a statement marking the 38th anniversary of Unity Day yesterday, President Mnangagwa commended the nation’s progress, describing it as a reflection of Zimbabweans’ collective strength and resilience.

“As we reflect on the journey since the signing of the Unity Accord, we celebrate the many victories we have achieved together as a united people,” he said.

The President noted that the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), which concludes this year, has achieved significant milestones. Looking ahead, he emphasized that the recently launched National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) will focus on accelerating industrialization, promoting value addition, and fostering inclusive growth.

“We remain determined to transform our economy, create more jobs, and improve the quality of life for our people,” President Mnangagwa added.
