Former Big Brother Naija star Cross Okonkwo has spoken out after his car was vandalized by a street beggar who approached him for money in Ikate, Lekki, Lagos State.

According to Cross, he was driving along the road when a man approached his car begging for money. When he declined to give him anything, the man allegedly ripped the windshield seal off his car and fled with it. Cross got out and attempted to chase him down, but was unable to catch up.

Visibly frustrated, the reality star filmed the damage to his car while venting about what he described as the growing menace of street beggars in the area. Other young men in the vicinity gathered around, claiming to help him track down the culprit, though their efforts proved largely unhelpful.
“In Nigeria, you’re not safe in your own country,” Cross said in the video. “This Lagos, I don’t understand why you guys are allowing thugs to be on the street mhen. This is unfair.”
He remained at the scene for a while, visibly shaken and searching for the perpetrator, before eventually giving up the chase.
