The Peoples Democratic Party’s governor Nyesom Wike’s team has formally confirmed that it would not be taking part in the party’s presidential campaign for the 2023 elections.
After a lengthy discussion that lasted from about 7 p.m. yesterday until well after 2 a.m. this morning at Wike’s private mansion in Port Harcourt, the state capital of Rivers, the group declared their opinion.
Members of the group declared that unless the party’s national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, steps down in favor of a southern candidate, none of them would take part in the campaign council in any capacity.
