US to deport Nigerian over violent crimes

Tunde Ijaoba

The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement has announced that a Nigerian national, Ibrahim  Ijaoba, is currently in its custody awaiting deportation following a final removal order.

ICE disclosed this in a post shared on its X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, describing Ijaoba as a criminal illegal alien with a history of violent offences in the United States.

According to the agency, Ijaoba, a former member of the Bloods street gang, entered the US illegally and later amassed multiple criminal convictions.

“Ibrahim Tunde Ijaoba is a criminal illegal alien from Nigeria and former member of the Bloods — a notoriously violent street gang,” ICE said.

The agency listed his criminal record to include convictions for aggravated assault on a police officer with a firearm, assault and aggravated assault, armed robbery, obstruction, drug sales, and escaping police custody.

ICE noted that the offences formed the basis for his removal from the United States.

“He has a final removal order and awaits deportation in ICE custody,” the agency added

The Bloods is a well-known street gang in the US, often associated with violent crime, drug trafficking and armed robbery.
