The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the deaths of three siblings whose bodies were discovered on a farm near the Owena Army Barracks in Akure on September 4, 2026.

The victims were identified as Joshua Jonah and Jacob Jonah, both 11-year-old twins, and their five-year-old sister, Blessing Jonah. The children had reportedly accompanied their father, Samuel Jonah, to the farm before leaving for home ahead of him. They were discovered missing when their father later returned home.

A search operation was subsequently launched, and on Saturday, September 5, the bodies of the three children were found along the bank of a small river within the farm premises.
The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Felix Ohagwu, has ordered a full investigation into the incident. The command said it is documenting all available facts and circumstances surrounding the incident with a view to establishing the exact cause of the children’s deaths.
The police also urged members of the public, particularly parents and guardians, to exercise greater vigilance over children around rivers, ponds, streams, and other bodies of water, in order to prevent similar tragedies.
