A Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has jailed Solomon Adegbite, a 41-year-old serial drug trafficker based in Italy, to 15 years in prison without a fine option. The conviction stems from trafficking 1.30 kilograms of Tramadol 225 mg, a banned narcotic.
NDLEA arrested Adegbite on July 22, 2025, during passenger screening for a Royal Air Maroc flight to Italy via Casablanca at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja. He had hidden the drugs inside a thick winter jacket to dodge security.
This marks Adegbite’s third drug-related arrest, including one in 2024. Justice Musa Kakaki delivered the sentence on Wednesday after Adegbite pleaded guilty to a 15-count charge filed by NDLEA prosecutor Juliana Imaobong Iroabuchi.
Arraigned in February 2026, Adegbite was remanded in custody. The trial faced delays due to unprepared exhibits but proceeded on March 16, when NDLEA operative Okey Emmanuel presented facts and evidence.
