Pregnant lady detained by NDLEA in Rivers with 34.4 kg of cannabis
In Okrika, Rivers state, agents of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) detained Kate Ibinabo, a 29-year-old pregnant lady who was in possession of 34.4kg of cannabis sativa.

Speaking on behalf of the organization, Femi Babafemi said the suspect, who is nine months pregnant, was taken into custody on Saturday.

However, since she was in her ninth month of pregnancy when she was arrested, the Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), CON, OFR, ordered that she be given administrative release awaiting the delivery of her child and her return for her prosecution.

On the other hand, Ondo state on Tuesday, November 29, found 241 bags of the psychoactive material with a gross weight of 3,133kg from a structure at Ilale Cashew, Ehinogbe, Owo.

On Thursday, December 1st, a search at the hideaway of a running drug dealer in Lagos’ Mushin neighborhood netted at least 507,9 kg of cannabis.

53 jumbo bags of C/S weighing 567.05kg were taken from three suspects in Cross River on December 1st at Mpara junction, Odukpani LGA while they were transporting the consignment in a bus with the registration number CKK 74 AA. The suspects were Bassey Boniface Eyibio, 38; Effiong Akiba Etim, 30; and Ngbong Raymond, 45.

Operatives also detained Ali Mohammed, another suspect, on the Potiskum-Damaturu route after discovering 29,090 tramadol pills in his Honda automobile, ABC 914 RW, which was traveling from Gombe to Damaturu in Yobe state.

Gen. Marwa praised the officers and personnel of the agency’s Rivers, Ondo, Lagos, Cross River, and Yobe Commands and urged them, as well as their colleagues in other formations, to continue stepping up their offensives against drug cartels.
