After passing out during a boxing battle in Ghana on Saturday, Segun “Success” Olanrewaju, a former National and West African light-heavyweight champion, passed away.
Olanrewaju passed out during Fight Night 15 of the Ghana Professional Boxing League at Bukom Boxing Arena against Ghanaian boxer Jon Mbanugu.
He was apparently ahead on points prior to the terrible event, according to information obtained by PUNCH Online.
In a video that was circulated on social media, PUNCH Online also saw him pass out.
The boxing community has been thrown into mourning following his sudden death.
Olanrewaju, a respected figure in Nigerian boxing, previously held both National and West African light-heavyweight titles.
His contributions to the sport in Nigeria and across West Africa have been widely acknowledged, with colleagues and fans paying tribute to his legacy.
