National grid collapses for the seventh time this year

According to various assertions made by energy distribution firms, Nigeria’s creaky national grid crashed for the eighth time this year on Monday.

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company said in a statement that the network’s current supply outage was caused by the system failure that took place at 10:51 am on September 26, 2022.

This situation leaves all of our Transmission Company Networks (TCN) interface stations without power, making it impossible for us to serve our clients in the states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo, according to the statement.

“We are on alert while expecting further information from the National Control Centre (NCC), Osogbo, regarding the supply breakdown and restoration.

The Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), on its part, stated: “We regret to notify you that the system failure of the National Grid is the cause of the power outage being experienced in our franchise.
