Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the man at the centre of allegations that he ran a fake outfit known as the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has declared his readiness to face the law, insisting he will clear his name of the accusations levelled against him.

Recall that the Presidency, on Wednesday, July 1, distanced itself from the said agency, denying any knowledge of its existence. In a statement issued by presidential media aide, Bayo Onanuga, the Presidency disclosed that Adeyemi is currently being investigated by security agencies and is expected to be arraigned in court on July 27.

The statement further noted that Adeyemi had claimed he was issued an appointment letter by the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, a claim the Presidency said Gbajabiamila has since denied.
Speaking in an interview with Channels Television on Wednesday evening, Adeyemi maintained that he was ready to defend himself against the allegations, insisting that his appointment to head the organisation was lawful and above board.
When asked if he was ready to face the law, he said
“Definitely, sir. If I’m wrong, let the court of law do that, and if I’m right, let the court of law do that; do the right thing.”
He denied claims labelling him as a con artist, arguing that
“Since the matter is in the court, let the court of competent jurisdiction vindicate me because I’m ready to clear my name.
Let the court take its course. Since my lawyers are involved, everybody will follow us. They will monitor the whole thing. Then let the court of competent jurisdiction do what they need to”
When pressed about where the funding for the salaries of staff under the council came from, he insisted that “the truth will be unraveled at the court of law.
“Mr Seun [host of the programme], I don’t want to talk much about it since the matter is in court. In fact, I’m restricted from talking since the matter is in the courts. So let’s just get to the courts, Ok?”
