Brazil

Carlo Ancelotti, Brazil’s new coach, has announced his first team for the country’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Ecuador and Paraguay, which are set for June 5 and June 10, respectively.

As Ancelotti starts a new chapter with the national team, star striker Neymar is conspicuously absent from the 26-man roster.

In every position, the team consists of a mix of young players and seasoned internationals.

Ancelotti has chosen Hugo Souza, Bento, and Alisson for goal.
On defense, center-backs Alexsandro, Beraldo, Marquinhos, Leo Ortiz, and Danilo have been picked, along with full-backs Alex Sandro, Carlos Augusto, Wesley, and Vanderson.

The midfield boasts a robust mix, including Andreas Pereira, Andrey Santos, Bruno Guimarães, Casemiro, Ederson, and Gerson, signalling Ancelotti’s aim to forge a balanced core combining youth, creativity, and defensive resilience.

The attacking line-up features Vinícius Júnior, Antony, Raphinha, Gabriel Martinelli, Matheus Cunha, Richarlison, and rising star Estêvão.

The Brazilian Football Confederation released the official squad list on Monday via X.

Brazil will host Ecuador on June 5, before travelling to Paraguay five days later, as they pursue qualification for the 2026 World Cup, to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
