Jigawa State Hosts Mass Wedding for 300 Orphans in Major Welfare Initiative

The wife of the Jigawa State Governor, Hajiya Amina Umar Namadi, has sponsored a mass wedding for 300 less-privileged orphans drawn from the 27 local government areas of the state.

The initiative is aimed at supporting vulnerable families and providing orphaned youths with a fresh start in life through structured social welfare intervention.

The colourful ceremony, held in Dutse, brought together 150 brides and 150 grooms in what is being described as one of the largest state-backed mass weddings in recent years.

According to organisers, the event reflects the Jigawa State Government’s growing commitment to social welfare, family stability, and community development.

The newlyweds arrived at the venue in coordinated attire provided by the office of the governor’s wife, adding colour and symbolism to the ceremony.

The initiative has been widely noted as part of ongoing efforts to reduce hardship among vulnerable groups and promote social inclusion across the state.
