BREAKING: EFCC seals Abuja residence of former minister

Timipre Sylva's

EFCC sealed former petroleum minister Timipre Sylva’s Abuja home amid an ongoing dispute over a $14.8 million Brass refinery probe. Sylva’s media aide, Julius Bokuro, condemned the move, saying the commission acted without a warrant or due process.

He accused EFCC operatives of attempting to enter the residence, spray-painting “EFCC -Keep Off” on the walls and effectively trapping Sylva’s family and staff inside for weeks.

Bokuro framed the incident as politically driven, warning that federal agencies should not be turned into tools for local political battles. He defended Sylva’s public record and argued that the action was an unjustified intimidation tactic rather than a legitimate investigation.
