Controversial Nigerian relationship expert Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has denied allegations that she is addicted to drugs, insisting that she does not smoke, drink alcohol or attend parties.

Blessing made the clarification during a video call with Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, shortly after her reported release from detention. The conversation was recorded and shared on Instagram on October 25, 2026.

During the call, Ogala informed Blessing that claims about her alleged drug use had circulated widely on social media while she was in custody. She said some people had also suggested that the relationship expert needed rehabilitation rather than financial support or business opportunities.
Responding, Blessing dismissed the allegations, saying those spreading the stories did not know her personally.
“Yes, mama, I don’t smoke, I don’t drink and I don’t even party,” she said.
The social media personality further criticised online users for forming opinions about her lifestyle without any personal knowledge of her.
“Most times, the internet just has a way of enjoying themselves. A lot of people don’t even know me in person,” she added.
Blessing’s remarks came after social media activist VeryDarkMan allegedly claimed that she was a drug addict and needed rehabilitation. She rejected the allegation and maintained that she does not use illegal substances.
The relationship expert’s release followed months in detention over fraud-related allegations filed against her by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Reports said she was arraigned by the commission’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 on June 9, 2026, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing involving ₦69,150,000.
Ogala announced Blessing’s release on Instagram, sharing a video of their conversation and writing: “Blessing CEO is finally out, thank you Jesus.”
Blessing’s denial has since generated reactions on social media, with some users supporting her account of events while others continued to question the circumstances surrounding her detention and release.
The development has also renewed debate about the spread of unverified claims about celebrities on social media, particularly during periods of legal trouble or public controversy. Blessing insisted that much of what was said about her online came from people who had never met her in real life.
She maintained that she was not struggling with substance abuse and urged the public to distinguish between online speculation and her actual personal life.
