Kola Omotoso, a housemate from Big Brother Naija Season 10, is at the center of a social media frenzy when a lighthearted Truth or Dare kiss with participant Dede turned into a full-fledged online dragging rampage.
Fans criticized Kola for “crossing lines” and scrutinized his developing intimacy with Dede as what began as flirtatious home banter swiftly turned into timelines.
The controversy stems from an open discussion on Friday in which Dede politely requested that Kola “stop talking about other people” and instead concentrate on “more personal things.” Kola agreed, suggesting that they discuss “what we have going on instead.”
Though private, the conversation was quickly clipped and circulated across social media, and when paired with the later Truth or Dare game that led to a kiss, it fueled intense speculation about Kola’s intentions.
The online chatter escalated so quickly that his fan base felt compelled to step in.
Dropping a fiery official statement on Friday night, Kola’s official X account defended his name and slammed the smear campaign, warning that reckless online accusations would no longer be tolerated.
“Kola has recently faced a wave of online backlash, with accusations and name-calling taking over social media spaces,” the statement began.
According to them, the attacks have gone far beyond ordinary fan chatter.
“What began as name-calling: ‘mumu,’ ‘simp’, has now escalated into dangerous and unfounded labels such as ‘rapist’, ‘predator’, ‘abuser’, coined expressly and impliedly.
