A Benue couple’s pre-wedding pictures have caused controversy on the internet due to their apparent age difference.

Some allege the bride-to-be is underage, while others think she has a baby face. On December 13, 2025, Michael and Angel will tie the knot in the state’s Kwande Local Government Area.

Zeke Orkwande, a local Benue activist, posted the pictures on Facebook on Monday and requested verification of the girl’s age.
Good morning my people, I hope this isn’t a case of underaged marriage about to happen in Ikyurav-ya, Kwande Local Government Area? Somebody help check,” he wrote.
“Recently, in Enugu state, police arrested a 30yrs old man for marrying a 13yrs old girl. Both parents were arrested too.
“Well, let’s not conclude yet, some people are born with ever young blood and baby faces. Maybe Angel isn’t underage as we see in photos. Let’s not judge the book by its cover yet. CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM.”
