Toke Makinwa, a well-known media figure in Nigeria, has declared her retirement from broadcasting.

On Friday, September 23, 2022, she sent this message on her Instagram account.

Toke described how she started off as a novice before becoming into an accomplished media personality and presenter as she celebrated her achievement.

She said, “This has taken me so long to share but here we are,” in what seemed to be a friendly message. Guys, I finally take a bow after 12 years since I started working in radio.

The last 12 years have been the most thrilling of my life. I started off as a newbie, but I can now claim that I’m departing as an experienced broadcaster.

“As the queen of discussion, I’d want to go on a brand-new voyage with you all. Since it may not be new to others, I’ll call it an elevated phase.

I’d like to present you to #TMPod, ladies and gentlemen. We can’t wait to show you the new enhanced Toke moments now that TokeMoments has joined @eggcorndigital @eggcornpodcastnetwork. Follow along. Podcasting is done in Nigeria.

The message was followed by a video that included images and footage from her last day at work along with testimonials from her colleagues on how productive she was and how much she will be missed.
