According to accounts of the incident, Peller was driving through Lagos when he was flagged down by police operatives who noticed his vehicle had no plate number affixed. The entertainer reportedly explained to the officers that the car was a recent purchase and had yet to be formally registered, which was why a plate number had not been issued.
However, the situation reportedly escalated when Peller began filming his exchange with the officers. He alleged that their demeanour turned hostile once he started recording, claiming that one officer grabbed him by the shirt while another allegedly pointed a firearm at him during the confrontation.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
