Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed deep sympathy toward Nigerian-British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua following a tragic road accident that claimed two lives on Monday, December 29.
According to reports, the accident occurred while Joshua was traveling with companions, two of whom sadly lost their lives. Eyewitnesses stated that the Ogun-born boxer sustained only minor injuries during the crash.
In a statement released shortly after the incident, Atiku Abubakar conveyed his condolences to Joshua and the families of the deceased, describing the news as deeply saddening. He commended Joshua’s resilience and prayed for the speedy recovery of the athlete and comfort for the bereaved families.
The boxing champion, who has remained a global sports icon representing both Nigeria and Britain, has yet to make a public statement regarding the tragedy. Authorities are reportedly investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
