In Kaduna State’s Zaria Local Government Area, at least eleven individuals have been electrocuted to death and numerous others have been hurt.

The event happened on Wednesday afternoon in the Gwargwaje neighborhood of Zaria Local Government, and it resulted in the burning of various structures and commercial spaces.

The terrible incident, according to the management of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, was brought on by a high tension line snap on a low tension line that produced an over voltage supply.

Abdulazeez Abdullahi, the head of corporate communication at Kaduna Electric, expressed sadness over the tragedy in a statement. He said that preliminary research showed that the incident was caused by a high tension line snap on a low tension line, which led to an excessive voltage supply.

“In order to prevent more harm, the source feeder was opened right away in an emergency. Kaduna Electric offers the families of those who suffered losses as a result of the event its sincere condolences.
