The Lagos State Government has said that it would look into the unprofessional behavior of the nurses at a hospital in the state where reality TV star Patrick Fakoya, also known as Rico Swavey, was sent after he was killed in a car accident.
As Rico was in a serious state, a 30-second video of several nurses at a hospital in Lagos State recording and shirking their responsibilities infuriated users on social media.
The video shows Rico Swavey sitting on a chair. The other nurses were unconcerned as one of them giggled while recording as another nurse requested for assistance to help place him on a stretcher.
One of the nurses was overheard advising a fellow nurse about the behavior.
The nurse replied, “You guys should stop filming the video; someone is dying, and you people are creating video.”
Many Nigerians have strongly criticised the video.
Gbenga Omotoso, the commissioner for information and strategy for the state of Lagos, responded to the public outrage by announcing that an inquiry had been launched.
We have launched an inquiry into the improper behavior of people shown in the video. That hospital is not a government facility.
