In response to speculations of a falling out between Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, also known as Bambam, and her spouse Tope Adenibuyan, also known as Teddy A, Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has spoken out against rumours that he is related to fellow performer and reality TV star Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan.
Arukwe vehemently denied having a personal relationship with the actress in a recent BBC Igbo interview, emphasising that their working relationship was entirely professional.
The Love in Every Word star disclosed that his initial interaction with Bambam took place solely on a movie set and that he made a conscious effort to create clear boundaries before filming any private moments together.
He disclosed that seeking consent from co-stars before physical contact is a personal standard he holds himself to on every production, particularly when working alongside married colleagues.
“I always ask my co-lead actor if it is okay to touch them in a certain way, especially the married ones, because I don’t want them to have problems at home,” he said.
Arukwe stressed that what plays out on screen is a product of craft and collaboration, not personal sentiment, and called on fans to draw a clear line between the characters actors portray and who they are in real life. For him, maintaining that distinction is not just about protecting his own reputation, but about safeguarding the homes and relationships of those he works with.
