Media personality Toke Makinwa has set social media buzzing after boldly claiming that men — not women — are the real gold diggers.
She made the statement on a new episode of her podcast, where she discussed relationships, money, and marriage choices.
Toke argued that many men deliberately chase women from wealthy families because they want long-term financial security, and they do it openly and confidently.
She questioned why society constantly drags women for wanting comfort, yet ignores how men also position themselves for wealth.
In her words, women are always being insulted for “knowing what they want,” while the other gender “marry generational wealth without shame.”
Toke stressed that she does not hate them for it — but people should stop pretending it is only women who make financially motivated choices.
She went on to say that if her own brother came to her torn between two potential partners, she would advise him to choose a woman from a financially stable background.
