Pastor Isaac Oyedepo, founder of the Isaac Oyedepo Evangelistic Ministries and son of Bishop David Oyedepo, has announced that his ministry will operate without collecting offerings, following what he described as a divine instruction.
According to a report by Church Times on Tuesday, January 13, Pastor Oyedepo made this known in an online message that aired on Sunday, January 11. In the video, he explained that the central mission of his ministry is discipleship and helping people grow in their walk with Christ, rather than engaging in financial activities.
Addressing questions surrounding the decision, Oyedepo clarified that God specifically told him not to take offerings in the ministry. While acknowledging that there is nothing wrong with other churches taking offerings, he emphasized that his assignment is uniquely focused on spiritual development.
He added that his approach is inspired by the early ministry of Jesus Christ. “All Jesus did during His early ministry was to make disciples; the fire fell, and they were filled and refilled. Before He left, He commanded us to do the same,” he said.
Oyedepo further highlighted the importance of continuous spiritual growth through studying the Word of God. “How healthy would our churches be if people were truly deep in the Scriptures?” he asked.
Before launching his own ministry, Isaac Oyedepo served for several years at Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), which was founded by his father, Bishop David Oyedepo.
