Man expelled from the community of Enugu due to the murder of his brother’s five children

Uwakwe Ugwuanyi, who was suspected of being responsible for numerous deaths in his family, has been exiled for life from Umuela village, Ibagwa-Aka community, and Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The villagers arrived at Uwakwe’s door on January 3, 2022, singing lamentations and carrying a pretend coffin and palm leaves.

They said that no less than five teenagers had committed d!e in his family in the previous two years.
In Facebook posts, One Bright King alleged that the man had k!lled five of his brother’s kids.

A village source claimed in an interview with The Nation that whenever someone died within the family, the suspect always offered to consult the diviners for information.

He constantly told the villagers that his late older brother was to blame for the deaths upon his return, the insider continued.
But when another young person d!ed in the family over the previous holiday season, things appeared to have out of hand.

The change compelled the village’s youth to see a different diviner to determine the reason for the deaths.

An unnamed family member said: “Our brothers and sisters have been drinking for a very long time. Mr. Uwakwe will always claim he will look into what is happening to our family for us if you ask him to.”

“When he returns from the search, he’ll tell you that his late brother, who is also his elder brother, is to blame for the children’s deaths; that his late elder brother had a dispute with the gods; and that the gods are to blame for the children’s deaths.

“However, the most recent one occurred, and the youths are quite upset about his passing.

We made the decision to search for a solution together, which is what we did.

When we brought home what we saw, the entire village decided that he be expelled from our community. We searched in many places for a solution, and the image of the man kept coming up that our uncle is accountable for all the deaths that have been occurring in Umuela village in the Ibagwa-Aka community.”
