Lagos Orders Autopsy on Twins Who D*ed After Routine Immunisation

Lagos State

The Lagos State Government has ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death of nine-month-old identical twins, Testimony and Timothy Alozie, who reportedly died less than 24 hours after receiving routine immunisations at a state primary health centre.

The incident drew widespread public attention after the twins’ father, Samuel Alozie, popularly known on TikTok as Promise Samuel, shared emotional videos showing the bodies of his sons and describing how they fell ill shortly after their vaccinations on December 24, 2025.

According to Alozie, the babies became extremely weak after receiving their injections. A nurse allegedly advised the parents to administer paracetamol if the children’s temperatures rose, but their condition did not improve despite the medication and cold baths. The twins were pronounced dead on Christmas morning, December 25.

“They were very strong and healthy before the immunisation. After the injection, they became so weak that they could neither play nor eat. By the next morning, they were gone,” Alozie said tearfully in his post. He added that the nurse who vaccinated the children was not the same health worker who usually attended to them and dismissed suggestions that their deaths might have been caused by “food bacteria.”

Reacting to the case, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Primary Health Care BoardDr. Ibrahim Mustafa, confirmed that investigations are ongoing. He said both the police and the state government are conducting separate inquiries while awaiting the results of the postmortem.

“We understand the grief of the parents and sympathise deeply with them,” Mustafa said. “However, it is important that we allow proper investigations to determine what really happened. The same vaccine batch was administered to several other children before and after without any adverse reports.”

He added that the twins’ bodies have been deposited at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) morgue and assured that the findings would be made public once available.

Meanwhile, Alozie has raised concerns about possible bias in the investigation, appealing for legal assistance. “This is government to government,” he said. “I don’t have money to fight this case, but I need justice for my children.
