No fewer than nine people have reportedly lost their lives in a fresh explosion along Dansadau Road in Zamfara State — the second such incident within a week.
The blast occurred near the Mai Aya Aya area, before Kwankelai Junction on the old Danguibi Road, close to Ruwan Dawa village and Magamin Maitarko.
How the Zamfara explosions occurred
According to Daily Trust, suspected bandits allegedly planted Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) at three different spots along the route.
An eyewitness, Malam Yunusa Isah, who resides in Malele village, said the first explosion claimed four lives instantly. Shortly after, another blast occurred when a trailer ran over a second IED, killing five more people on the spot.
