A popular masquerade known as “Ekpo” was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Journalist Harrison Essien reported the incident on Monday evening, December 22, 2025. He said a speeding driver swerved to avoid another vehicle and collided with the masquerade on Usung Obio Ekpo Road.
The Ekpo’s body remains at the scene, and its identity is still
unknown.
