Christmas not a day for sexual immorality, other social vices – Cleric

An Associate Pastor of the Evangelical Church of Christ Winning All, ECWA, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna, Pastor Bobai Tanko has urged Christians particularly youths to eschew immoral acts during the Christmas festivities.

The cleric made the call on Monday during the church’s Christmas Service.

According to him, some Christians used the festive period to indulge in sexual immorality, drunkenness and irresponsible acts such as reckless driving.

“Such acts do not reflect the essence of Christmas.

Unfortunately some will be initiated into evil acts; some will lodge in hotels to engage in immoral acts and end up with unwanted pregnancies in the name of celebrating Christmas.

“Christmas is not a day for drunkenness or sexual escapades,’’ Tanko admonished.

Tanko charged the congregants to be circumspect in all their decisions and to surrender their lives to God.

He reiterated that the birth of Jesus Christ brought salvation to the world, adding that Christmas should be a day of reconciliation, and celebrated with loved ones.

He equally implored the congregants to conduct themselves in a proper manner and to show kindness by helping the indigent
