BREAKING: Gov Fubara Directs Rivers Commissioners Appointed by Wike To Resign

The governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara, has ordered all the commissioners appointed by the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, to tender their resignation letters.

This comes after 18 commissioners tendered their resignation on Friday morning, December 15. The commissioners were told to resign today, Friday, or would be relieved of their jobs by Monday, December 18.

An X user identified simply as Omotayo Williams @KadunaResident made this disclosure via a post shared on his page on Friday.

The Twitter user alleged that Wike surrounded Fubara with his loyalists, strategically placing them from the House of Assembly to the Judiciary and political appointees.

This plan according to him, is to give Wike the ability to strike Fubara anytime, as evident in the recent failed impeachment attempt

Legislature – 25 state assembly seats are now vacant.

Judiciary – The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice has resigned.

Executive – Commissioners are resigning in large numbers, amid grapevine information suggesting they will be sacked soon as part of the ongoing system cleansing.
