Atiku, Tinubu, Obi, and 4,223 other candidates are cleared by INEC to run for the National Assembly

In accordance with the election schedule for 2023 that was originally issued this year, the Independent National Electoral Commission released the final list of candidates for national elections on Tuesday, including those for the presidential, senatorial, and federal seats.

Festus Okoye, the National Commissioner in Charge of Voters’ Education for INEC, who verified this in a statement, also put the list on its website.

There were 36 presidential contenders on the list, representing 18 different political parties. At the federal level, 469 legislative slots (senatorial and federal constituencies) will be filled by a total of 4,223 candidates.

However, as stated in the timetable and calendar of events, the commissioner announced that the final list of candidates for state elections (governorship and state districts) will be issued on October 4, 2022
