On Sunday, September 7, two persons were killed in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, following an alleged conflict between competing cult groups.
Three people were killed during a masquerade party in the same neighborhood less than a week before to this most recent attack, which police later linked to cult violence.
In the midst of an ongoing conflict between the two factions in the Lakowe neighborhood of Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, a rival group k!lled a young man called Pablo on Sunday, intensifying the violent event, according to Naija Confra.
Around 3 p.m., Pablo was killed in front of his father. According to pictures released by the tabloid, he was slashed in the face and had his hand severed during the assault.
A photo shared on Telegram by Naija Confra shows one of the victims lying on the floor beside a fallen motorcycle in a pool of his blood. The deceased had machete cuts on his face and hand.
Also, a 19-second video, shared on Telegram by Naija Confra showed one of the victims lying lifeless in the back of a white moving police van
A resident said, “We have seen several kinds of k!llings in this area.
“Just after the first k!lling on Sunday, another person was k!lled. His hand was cut off by the cultists.”
Residents are calling on authorities to intensify security in the area to avoid reprisal attacks.
