In Iyo Polo community, Marine Base, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, a young woman allegedly poisoned her boyfriend to death for cheating on her.
It was learned that she hid the deceased’s body under the bed in his room for three days after killing him. Locals in the area reportedly became suspicious when they noticed a bad smell coming from the victim’s home, and worried neighbors tried to contact the deceased but got no response.
When they noticed the suspect acting oddly and hesitating to enter the flat, their suspicions increased.
After alerting the police, policemen showed up on the site and broke into the room, where they found the victim’s decaying body.
The culprit was apprehended right away and placed under police custody for more investigation.
The motivation for the alleged murder has not yet been officially stated by the authorities.
However, early evidence points to a domestic conflict as the possible cause of the occurrence.
