A suspected drug user has been taken into custody by the Niger State Police Command in Bangi, Mariga Local Government Area, for culpable homicide.
In a statement released over the weekend, the command spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, revealed that Hashimu Sani, the suspect, had stabbed one Musa Bala to death with a knife.
The PPRO said that although the suspect was unable to provide an explanation for his behavior, it was determined that he suffers from drug addiction.
“On 17th February, 2025 at about 10.30pm, Police operatives of Kotonkoro, attached to Bangi Div arrested one Hashimu Sani 23yrs of Kotonkoro village with two knives stained with suspected blood substance. It was reported that the suspect allegedly used the knives to stab one Musa Bala 20yrs of the same area on the neck,” the statement read.“When questioned, he couldn’t state any reason for his action or any altercation between him and the deceased.“It was only established that the suspect is a drug addict and usually brags that if he k!lls someone, nothing will happen.“He has been transferred to SCID for further investigation and prosecution.”
