On Sunday, Connie Muuru, a 60-year-old Kenyan woman who has been divorced three times, threw a fit at a divorce celebration hosted by a Nairobi club.

The date of the divorce celebration was Saturday, January 25, 2025.

According to the organizers, the purpose of the divorcees’ gathering is to support one another and combat the stigma that they encounter in society.

Ms. Muuru stated in a Facebook post that she would not want divorce for her own children and grandkids and that it is not a success.

The grandma claims that she attempted three times because she loves marriage.

“DIVORCE CELEBRATIONS: HOW CAN I DO IT?. “What am I going to teach my children and future generations to become older women in society?” she wrote.

I’ve gone through three divorces.

The fact that mine didn’t work,it doesn’t mean that no marriage is working or going to work. I have children and grandchildren whom I believe, will have lasting marriages and beautiful families. Otherwise Divorce it’s not an achievement at all.
Single life is not easy and it’s not a cup of uji. Sometimes we sleep in sickness, without knowing if we will see tomorrow alive…the only thing we can do is to leave our bedroom doors open, incase we die in there.
I WOULDN’T WISH THAT FOR MY CHILDREN OR ANYONE ELSE. BUT STILL IF THE MARRIAGE IS NOT WORKING, INSTEAD OF KILLING EACH OTHER OR GO DOWN WITH DEPRESSION AND CONSTANT UNHAPPINESS, JUST LEAVE QUIETLY AND PEACEFULLY.
