The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has said President Bola Tinubu should not be held solely responsible for the country’s widespread insecurity. He pointed out that even Muhammadu Buhari, a retired army general, failed to wipe it out.

“What do you expect of Tinubu?”
Yari acknowledged the challenges facing the country but insisted the Tinubu administration is working to address them. He recalled that Buhari, a retired Army General, also made efforts to tackle insecurity during his time in office, though the problem was never fully eliminated.
“If a retired general did his best but could not completely tackle insecurity, what do you expect of President Tinubu, who is not a general? Nevertheless, the President has done his utmost best to address the security challenges confronting the country,” he said.
Mixed reaction online
His remarks drew sharp reactions from readers of the original report. Many commenters rejected his argument, with some saying Tinubu’s best has not been good enough and others calling for accountability on security. A few also faulted Yari for not crediting the efforts made under Buhari.
