She said she would not reveal private details of the split or take part in public debate about it, and she asked the public and the media to respect her privacy and that of her former partner.
“Peace over controversy”
In her statement, which she titled “A Personal Announcement”, Chita said her decision came after much thought and a deeply personal journey. She wrote that she was embracing the new chapter “with peace, grace, and dignity.”
“Marriage is a personal journey, and not every story ends the way we once hoped,” she said. “However, I believe that every individual deserves the freedom to move forward without judgment, ridicule, or public humiliation.”
She thanked everyone who had supported her and said she was choosing “peace over controversy, healing over bitterness, and growth over public explanations.”
Chita closed on a note of resolve: “My marriage has ended, but my life continues. I move forward with my head held high, my dignity intact, and my heart open to the future.”
