Media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, and journalist Fegiro Johnson have urged Nigerians to embrace evidence-based public discourse over allegations involving the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, calling for due process and cautioning against premature conclusions.

Their remarks come as the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) continues investigating allegations made by Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi concerning the purported Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC). The Presidency has maintained that the PFIPC is not a recognised government agency and has no legal backing.

In a video shared on social media, Daddy Freeze questioned the basis of the allegations, citing reports that Adeyemi said he never met Gbajabiamila in person and dealt only through an alleged intermediary. He argued that allegations of financial misconduct should ordinarily be supported by verifiable evidence, such as communication records, bank transaction details or other documentary proof.
Public opinion, he said, should be guided by facts established through investigation rather than speculation, adding that photographs with public officials do not, on their own, constitute evidence of wrongdoing. Daddy Freeze stressed that his comments should not be interpreted as a defence of any individual but as a call for adherence to due process and evidence-based discussion.
In a similar vein, Johnson urged Nigerians to distinguish between allegations and proven facts, warning against allowing political sentiments to shape public judgment before investigations are concluded. In a post on X, he argued that claims of financial transactions should be backed by credible documentary evidence and maintained that the matter should be assessed strictly on verifiable facts.
The comments have stirred debate on social media, with Nigerians expressing differing opinions over the allegations and the ongoing investigation.
Gbajabiamila has denied any wrongdoing, saying he has no involvement in the allegations. The ICPC has yet to conclude its investigation, and no findings have been announced.
The controversy stems from allegations by Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi relating to the purported PFIPC. The Presidency has said the body is not a government agency established under Nigerian law, prompting the ICPC to open an investigation.
