Popular TikTok personality Fati Cele has been detained by the Kano State Police Command following the death of her boyfriend, Isma’il Makaye, at her residence in Kano’s Danbare area.

The police confirmed that the social media personality is currently in custody while investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Alleged Fire Incident and Death
According to a report by Punch, a source close to the deceased alleged that Cele raised an alarm about a fire at her residence, after which Makaye was rushed to Nassarawa Hospital for treatment but later died. Neighbours who responded to the distress call allegedly found Makaye with burn injuries and traces of blood on his body.
Police spokesperson CSP Abdullahi Haruna confirmed the detention but declined to provide further details, citing ongoing investigations. Officers from the Dorayi Babba Police Division subsequently took Cele into custody as part of the investigation.
Makaye Buried According to Islamic Rites
Makaye, a cosmetics trader based in Kano who lived in the Hotoro Tishama area, was buried at Unguwa Uku Yan Awaki after his remains were released to his family for Islamic burial rites.
