Canadian political analyst Goldie Ghamari has publicly accused Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, of lying during his recent interview with Piers Morgan regarding the alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria.
Minister Tuggar had appeared on the program to deny allegations of widespread Christian killings, insisting that he provided a factual and contextual explanation to counter what he called “misleading narratives about religious persecution.”
Reacting on X, Ghamari slammed the Minister, calling it “embarrassing” to watch him fail to answer Morgan’s questions and stating he was caught “in several lies.”
Ghamari went further to call Tuggar “a liar and a genocide denier,” arguing that while such behaviour may pass in Nigeria, it “does not stand in international media environments where claims are rigorously challenged.”
In response, Tuggar insisted that his responses were backed by verifiable data but may not have aligned with “preconceived expectations.” The Minister demanded that his full interview be aired exactly as recorded, stressing that “Nigeria’s truth must not be distorted to fit external biases.”
