I Almost Quit Music After Mo-Hits Collapsed”- Don Jazzy Opens Up

Before starting his record company, Mavin Records, Don Jazzy talked about his past setbacks and periods of uncertainty.

The well-known music producer said in an interview with Rolling Stone that he almost stopped making music after Mo’Hits Records failed. He claims that the failure was so depressing that he contemplated moving overseas and giving up music production completely.

Don Jazzy, however, stated that his friends’ unwavering support and encouragement enabled him to rebuild his self-esteem and rekindle his love of music, a choice that ultimately resulted in the establishment of Mavin Records.

 

I assumed that was the end of Mo’Hits. I nearly packed everything and moved overseas. However, friends urged me to stick around and start over, which is how Mavin Records came to be.
