141 Nigerian Nationals Arrested in Ghana Cybercrime Raids

Ghanaian authorities arrested 141 Nigerian nationals on Saturday, December 27, 2025, for alleged involvement in cybercrimes such as mobile money fraud, romance scams, sextortion, business email compromise (BEC), and wire fraud.

The intelligence-led operation targeted Lashibi and Tabora suburbs in Accra. The Cyber Security Authority of Ghana collaborated with the Ghana Police Service, National Security, and Ghana Immigration Service. Officials apprehended 100 suspects in Tabora and 41 in Lashibi.

Law enforcement seized 38 laptops and 150 mobile phones believed used in these financial crimes. They also arrested a Ghanaian landlord who housed about 100 of the suspects.

Communications Minister Samuel Nartey George announced the arrests, emphasizing accountability for landlords and ongoing forensic analysis of devices. Culprits will face Ghanaian law.
